People wear makeup for a number of reasons, and many regular makeup users spend a significant amount of time (and money) applying and removing their makeup every day. Millions of Americans spent between $50 to over $500 on makeup in 2020.
On average, American women spend $300,000 over the course of a lifetime on makeup. On any given day, Americans spend between 5 to over 20 minutes applying makeup. All of that time and money adds up, and such an expensive and time-consuming activity can be hard to maintain.
At Ashburn Laser & Skincare MedSpa, our medical director, Dr. Nasrin Ejtemaee, and our team of master estheticians offer cosmetic solutions like permanent makeup at our clinic in Ashburn, Virginia.
Who benefits from permanent makeup?
There are several benefits of investing in permanent makeup, starting with the savings in time and money. But the convenience factor is just one reason to consider permanent makeup.
Like any cosmetic procedure, permanent makeup is also a tool to make improvements to or enhance certain features on your face, whether it’s your lips, eyebrows, or cheeks. It’s also a great option for dealing with common skin problems like scars or stretch marks.
Anyone can enjoy the benefits of permanent makeup, including men.
How does permanent makeup work?
The process is actually pretty straightforward and simple. First, we apply a topical anesthetic to numb your face and make sure that you’re comfortable throughout the procedure. The actual makeup is made of pigments that we apply with a fine needle.
You may be a little sore and your skin may be a bit red for a day or so after the procedure. You may also experience some flaking and peeling as your skin heals after the treatment, but the procedure is minimally invasive and safe.
Like any cosmetic procedure, only skilled and licensed estheticians with extensive experience with the procedure should apply permanent makeup. We have that experience at Ashburn Laser & Skincare MedSpa.
Is permanent makeup really permanent?
Everyone is different, so the results of your permanent makeup procedure depend on a number of things, including your skin care routine, age, and lifestyle habits. In general, permanent makeup lasts three to five years or longer, and may require routine touch-ups to prevent fading.
Should you decide that you don’t want to reapply your permanent makeup, you’re free to just let the pigments fade away over time.
