Why Lasers Are the Gold Standard in Skin Care Treatments

Why Lasers Are the Gold Standard in Skin Care Treatments

Even the best skin needs a little self care and TLC from time to time. Whether it’s sun damage or the natural aging process, your skin’s texture and ability to bounce back from environmental factors and lifestyle habits changes over time.

Laser skin resurfacing treatments are a great option to target many common skin care problems without surgery or more invasive treatments.

At Ashburn Laser & Skincare Clinic, our team offers a range of skin care and body contouring treatments in Ashburn, Virginia.

What makes lasers the gold standard in skin care treatments?

In addition to being a noninvasive treatment that doesn’t involve surgery or needles, laser therapy is capable of targeting a number of skin issues, making it a good choice for everything from treating fine lines and wrinkles to lightening sun spots.

Here are some of the skin problems that we can treat with lasers:

Depending on your skin type and condition, a few laser treatments may dramatically improve your complexion and the quality of your skin. We provide a comprehensive evaluation and recommend the best skin care treatment for your needs.

How laser skin resurfacing works

Lasers use heat to penetrate through the skin layers and break up scar tissue and pigmentation. As you get older, collagen production begins to decline, which makes your skin lose its firmness and begin to sag.

Laser treatments can stimulate collagen production and new cell regeneration so your skin looks smoother, tighter, and younger.

We use the M22 ResurFX aesthetics system by Lumenis, which is known for precision and efficiency. The laser provides just the right amount of energy necessary to target scar tissue and damaged cells, without side effects or harm to healthy skin cells.

Quick and easy treatments

We can complete a typical laser skin treatment session in under an hour, so you can fit it in on your lunch break or in between running errands. The number of sessions you need depends on your skin type, and the type and severity of the condition we’re treating.

You may experience a little mild discomfort or pinching sensation during the procedure, but most of our laser resurfacing patients report little to no discomfort or side effects. You may have some redness or mild irritation following the treatment, but most effects wear off within a few hours of the treatment.
